human interest story
Wedding anniversary tragedy
A widow whose husband tragically passsed away before
they
could
celebrate their golden wedding anniversary organised a performance by a
brass band on the day they would have celebrated it because he said
before his death that he would like a band to be playing when they
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. (click on the photo to

Celebrated wedding anniversary after death
Widow Mrs. Gloria Allen, whose husband Ken died a few years ago, said
that they loved brass bands and regularly organised brass band
performances in their home town, for their own pleasure and for other
townfolks’ pleasure.
She said of her late husband: “I loved him so much, I wish he
could be here today. But I’m sure that his spirit is here,
listening to the band playing.”

Remembering a loved one

It's wonderful when a couple love each other so much that
one will remember the other on their wedding anniversary after they
have passed away.
Best
child bride and groom wedding contest
These children won the
`best child
bride and groom' award in a wedding
competition (photograph on far left, click on the photo to enlarge it.)
Parents also joined in the competition, dressing up as brides
and grooms
and as senior bridesmaids or flower girls.
There is no wedding ceremony at the competition, but the bride and
groom walk down a kind of `aisle' after they have been judged.
Pretty bizarre wedding reception venue
The `wedding guests' throw confetti at them as if they really had just
got married, and there is also a `wedding reception'.
This
is a pretty bizarre thing to watch; usually there is just one
bride and
groom at a wedding reception but at the competition there are quite a
few.

The wedding photographer, Jim Wagner, who is now retired, found the
images when he was looking through some of his possessions. He recalled
that the couple couldn't pay for their photos when the
wedding was held and wondered if they would like to have them now - 27
years later!
The bride, Karen Cline, of Mansfield Ohio, cried and hugged him when he
showed the photographs to her - and paid him the £150 that
she owed him for the photographs. Until then, she had only one wedding
picture, which was taken by a relative.
